Roger, a little mouse who loved to eat cheese for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well, only ate cheese and nothing else. Because of this, his friends named him ‘Cheese Roger’.
“Roger, it’s good to love cheese, but you should also taste other foods like apples, bananas, cereals, fish, chicken and bread, once you taste them you are going to love them the way you love cheese”, said Rosy, Roger’s mother one day.
But Roger never listened to his mother and told her “Mom, I love cheese and don’t want to try apples and all.”
One day, Roger had to go to a birthday party of one of his friends. He tried to put on one of his favourite shirts, but he had grown so fat that the buttons of his new shirt popped out.
Roger started crying, “Mom, how have you washed my shirt? It has shrunk!!!”.
Hearing her son cry, Rosy came to his room and asked “Roger, why are you crying and not yet ready for the party?”.
Roger :“Mom, can you see what have you done? All my clothes have shrunk and I am not able to wear my favourite shirt and trousers.”
Rosy stood there, thinking quietly and after some time replied, “So I have shrunk all your clothes?Still I have an idea to get your clothes back to their normal sizes.”
Roger “Really! Mom, Can you do it?”
Rosy “Why not darling, anything for you, but I need your support.”
Roger “How can I help you, mom?”
Rosy “You have to do something.”
Roger was little confused but also excited. “Mom, I will do as you say, I promise,” he said.
Rosy “So from today onwards you won’t eat cheese.”
Roger “No, mom you know how much I love cheese and if I don’t eat cheese, then what will I eat?”
Rosy “Roger, you promised me you would do as I say and it’s not good to break your promise. And Don’t worry, I have a lot more things to keep you amused.”
Roger “Mom, really! You have other sumptuous foods like cheese.”
Rosy “Yes, so many”.
Roger “Ok! Then Iwill do as you say”.
Roger started eating cereals, chicken, bananas, apples and other foods as well from that day. Within a few weeks, he was able to wear his favourite shirt and trouser, just by eating healthy food. Takeaway of the story: –
